Hi everyone,
As we start 2011, it is hard to believe we are starting our 5th year!!!! This will be a great year!!
The past 4 years have been amazing, the support from our former classmates and the community has been overwhelming. We have had so much fun.
We wanted you all to know that we so appreciate your generosity. Thru your help these past 4 years we have been able to help West Tampa Elementary buy thousands of dollars worth of books for their library. This year we were able to supply every student at WT (500+), with a chair back organizer/messengers tote. We were also able to provide the teachers with much needed supplies, and every child that made, honor roll, citizenship or perfect attendance will receive a special award from WTW. WTW also, collected school supplies and backpacks for Metropolitan Ministries, as well as hundreds of pounds of food. WTW, have been working with West Tampa Little League, and are very proud of the fact that we sponsor 2 Girls Softball Teams, in the hopes that they are forming life long friendships, as well as learning valuable life lessons, of teamwork, fair play, physical activities, community support, and that girls CAN play baseball!
We just wanted to "pay it forward"! And you have afforded us that opportunity.
2011 will be an exciting year for us, we look forward to celebrating our 5th year.
We will have "The Flavors of West Tampa" cookbook, a collection of recipes from many of our family members and friends, it has everything, from Arroz to Zucchini, we are very excited about this cookbook, and hope you will be too. They will be available for purchase just prior to Mother's Day.
Our 5th Annual Spring event, will be May 1, an old fashioned picnic, at MacFarlane Park. A fun day, to just catch up with old friends.
Then to close out the year we will have our 5th "Back to the 60's" dance, we will be revisiting the past 5 years. Don't want to give away too much, but it will be a fun night for all.
