Dear fellow Greyhounds and friends,
Again I want to thank you all for your unfailing support, 2008/2009 was a good year. Our 2009/2010 season is already under way, and taking off like a 747.
Through you generosity we have been able to do so much already this year!!!
The 2009 West Tampa Women & Friends Picnic, was a huge success, the weather was perfect. Proceeds from the picnic, helped buy our final ten MP3 players and gift cards, the kids were asking if we would be doing the Attendance Incentive again for this school year, I assured them we would. They all are ready to come to school every day!!! It's working!!! We were also able to throw an end of the year Pizza party for our little Angels at West Tampa Little League, they were thrilled, and everyone had a great time.
In July we a had a Soiree at Wild Wing Cafe, OH MY GOODNESS! What a resounding success. We asked you to bring donations for Metropolitan Ministries "Backpacks of Hope", and you brought them! Metropolitan estimated we brought them about $2000 worth of backpacks and school supplies. Outstanding!!! Everyone had a ball, and Rafael enjoyed having a huge audience.
We are planning a 2nd Soiree in September, in hopes of helping the teachers at West Tampa Elementary, their classroom budgets have been cut, yet again. They are getting $180 for the whole school year. Ridiculous!! We are going to ask you again to bring donations, but this time for the teachers. So, brush up on, the Cha Cha Slide, the Electric Slide and the Boot Scootin' Boogie, and come out and join us.
Plans and preparations are in full swing for this years, Back to the 60's dance. So mark you calendars right now for November 14. And make sure you are part of a great evening. We have a lot of surprises for you. And as always, proceeds will benefit West Tampa Elementary, West Tampa Little League and Stand up for Kids.
Finally, I want to thank the LADIES, this started with 5 of us back in September of 2006. By March 2007 we had 11 members. We now have a membership of 32 wonderful women. Not bad for 3 short years. None of what we have done could have been possible without a wonderful sisterhood. You rock, West Tampa Girls!!!
Once again I have to Thank everyone involved, you really don't know what your support has meant to every one of us.
